My Computer is Dead

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Well, my Powerbook G4 is dead. It died two days ago as I was trying to work on another song. I’m pretty sure the harddrive is dead as right before it kicked the bucket, it was making strange noises coming from where the harddrive is located inside the computer. Then the computer locked up entirely as the harddrive continued to make clicking noises. I had to hard reboot it and it no longer found the harddrive when trying to boot.

Fortunately I just bought one of the second generation iPod Touches so I am still able to do Internet and e-mail. In fact I’m writing this entry on it and it seems to be doing fine.

But alas, I now have to go buy a new laptop because I don’t really think it’s worth fixing the old Powerbook. I was going to buy a new laptop soon anyway, but now I’m going to have to buy a new one much sooner than I was hoping to.

All Terrorists are Darwinists!

Something was brought to my attention that I find quite hilarious actually. It is an interview with the author of “Atlas of Creation,” Harun Yahyaha. The interview itself is from Spiegel Online and is in German, but a paraphrased version is available in English. And I quote from the author of Pharyngula:

Adnan Oktar/Harun Yahya has been interviewed in Spiegel Online (that’s in German; you might want to read this short paraphrase in English). He says a number of, umm, interesting things.

- He dislikes Intelligent Design intensely, and sees it as a dishonest form of creationism.

- The Islamic terrorists aren’t actually Muslim—they are all foreign-educated Darwinist atheists. That includes Osama bin Laden.

- In the 2009 Darwin year, he plans to celebrate the collapse of Darwinism. I don’t think so.

- He claims that he can finance sending out free copies of the Atlas of Creation because he doesn’t accept royalties, so the publisher profits heavily. Uh, wait — how does the publisher profit off books that are given away?

As is commonly discovered, arch-creationists are very wacky people.

Some people are just crazy…

New Blog

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

I’ve been thinking for a while that I should start a new blog based on British history and I think I will do just that. I know I already have History Rhymes, but I’ve dedicated that blog to American history and don’t really want to stray from that topic. I think it’s best to have separate blog for separate topics.

I haven’t quite decided what it’s going to be called or anything, but that will come soon I suppose. When it’s open, I will announce it here.
