Haunted Houses

If there is one modern author of ghost stories I would never hesitate to recommend, it is Darcy Coates. Over the past few years, I have read many of her books and have yet to be disappointed even once — and Gallows Hill is no exception.

A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand is an interesting modern dive into the world originally created by Shirley Jackson in The Haunting of Hill House.

Stirrings in The Black House is another very interesting take on the traditional ghost and haunted house trope. It is definitely worth a read.
